Does Spotify Have a Student Discount?
Yes. In the US, Spotify Premium Student costs $6.99 a month instead of $12.99, and it includes Hulu (With Ads) at no extra cost. New students get the first month free. You can keep the student price for up to four years if you re-verify every 12 months.

How to get Spotify Premium Student
- Go to Spotify’s student pageUse the button above, or open spotify.com/student. Log in with your existing Spotify account or create one.
- Verify with SheerIDEnter your name and school in the SheerID form. SheerID checks your enrollment and your school’s eligibility; if it cannot confirm you automatically, it asks for a document.
- Add a payment methodThe first month is free if you never had Premium before. After that you pay the student price each month until you cancel.
- Activate Hulu (US only)Once Premium Student is active, open your Spotify account’s “Your services” page (spotify.com/us/account/your-services) and activate Hulu (With Ads). You can create a new Hulu account or use an existing one.
Price by country
Premium Student exists in many countries, and the price is set locally. The four English-speaking markets we have checked are in the table further down. The Hulu bundle is a US extra; in the UK, Canada and Australia the student plan is Spotify Premium on its own.
The Hulu bonus in the US
Spotify says Hulu (With Ads) normally costs $12.49 a month on its own, which makes the US bundle one of the strongest student deals for streaming. You watch Hulu in the Hulu app, not in Spotify. If you already have Hulu (With Ads), you can move it to Spotify billing only if you pay Hulu directly and have no add-ons; subscriptions billed through Roku or Amazon cannot be moved.

Can high school students get Spotify Premium Student?
No. Spotify requires enrollment at an accredited college or university, and in the US you must be at least 18.
Can I use Premium Student on a Duo or Family plan?
No. Premium Student is a single account. If you switch to Duo or Family you also lose the Hulu bonus.
Does Spotify Premium Student include Hulu outside the US?
No. The Hulu (With Ads) bonus is part of the US student plan only.
Is Spotify or Apple Music cheaper for students?
In the US the student prices were the same at our last check ($6.99). Spotify adds Hulu; Apple Music adds Apple TV. See Apple Music Student.
What happens when I graduate?
Your student plan runs until the end of your current 12-month period, then turns into Premium Individual. Cancel or downgrade before then if you do not want the full price.
