What matters in a student account

A student account should have no monthly fee. In the UK, the main difference between banks is the interest-free overdraft: how much you get in each year, what you must do to raise it and what happens when you graduate. Sign-up perks such as cash or vouchers often come with conditions, like paying in a minimum amount by a deadline.

An overdraft is still borrowed money. Use our budget calculator to plan how much you really need before you rely on one.
