Student Laptop Discounts: Apple, Samsung, HP, Lenovo, Dell
A laptop is the biggest purchase most students make. These are the education programs from the brands themselves, and how to stack them with sales.

How to get the lowest price
- Decide the platform first. Mac, Windows or Chromebook: the course you study may require one. Ask your department before buying.
- Compare percentages with real prices. "Up to 40%" applies to select products; a fixed $100 off can be more or less depending on the model.
- Stack with sales. Lenovo’s extra 5% comes on top of its sale prices, and the best time for most brands is back to school (summer) and Black Friday. For Apple, see the best time to buy a MacBook.
- Check the limits. Education stores limit how many items you can buy per year; buy what you need in one order.

Retailers without a student price
Big retailers usually do not have a fixed student discount. Best Buy has no standing one, though it lists limited-time deals on Student Beans. Compare a retailer’s sale price with the brand’s education price on the same day.
