The Best Student Discounts in Australia

In Australia, the biggest student saving is usually transport concession fares. After that, subscriptions and tech have the clearest student prices.

Transport concessions

Each state runs its own scheme. In New South Wales, eligible full-time tertiary students pay Concession Opal fares capped at $9.65 a day Monday to Thursday and $25 a week. In Victoria, a concession myki gives 50% off for eligible students, and international students can use the iUSE pass. Rules on who qualifies differ, especially for international and part-time students, so check your state’s transport site. See Sydney and Melbourne for details.
